1 Marketing Programs We all know that old school marketing tools such as cold calling; magazine ads, newspaper ads and direct mail are not getting the job done in today's fast paced and consumer savvy markets. Those individuals and companies who embrace these new social changes and invest in the "New tools of marketing" will be the most profitable and seen as industry leaders going forward. As a NANO-CONCEPTS Operator we want to encourage you to embrace the changing market and become a leader in your industry. As a company we are embracing the changes with excitement and dedication. For your convenience, we have included a DIY section you can review to see the different marketing tools your company needs to be using to successfully market your company in these technology driven days. Many of these tools are available for free or low cost, and if you are web savvy you might be able to manage these tools yourself. However, through surveying our operators about their marketing needs, we have found that most do not have the time to create a website, manage marketing, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Yelp campaigns and broadcast weekly updates on each keeping their customers and prospects updated and engaged. This is particularly true for new start ups. Below you will find the outline for our NANO-CONCEPTS Platinum Marketing Program. This program was developed specifically for you the Operator. 6 Social Media Benefits of Facebook for business A Facebook page has many potential benefits for your business. While some of these benefits are similar to those of having a website, a number are unique to Facebook. Combined, the benefits listed below can lead to increased sales and profits for your business. 1) Facebook is a low-cost marketing strategy Marketing activities that would cost thousands of dollars through other channels can be used on Facebook for a fraction of the cost. This makes it ideal for small to medium businesses with a limited marketing budget. 2) Share basic information about your business Your Facebook page is a place where you can publicize your business name, address and contact details, and briefly describe your products and services. You can also talk about your staff, history, or any other aspect of your business that is likely to attract other Facebook users and create interest in what you do. 3) Share pictures and videos from your business As well as allowing you to post text, Facebook lets you upload pictures and videos from your business. This can be a powerful way to communicate with customers and potential customers, allowing them to see your product or service without having to visit your premises. Facebook also allows users to tag photos to indicate if a Facebook friend appears in them. This function can be used to promote your business. For example, a tour operator could post a photo on their page of a group going whitewater rafting, then invite each participant to tag their image in the photo. Each tagged image will show up as an update on the participant s Facebook account, where their friends will see it too. This increases the level of interest in the picture, and your business. 4) Talk to existing and potential customers You can use Facebook to talk to existing and potential customers by posting and receiving messages. But don t use Facebook to aggressively promote your products or services. You ll have much greater success if you share information related to your business that is actually useful or interesting to other users. This increases your credibility and promotes your business by building long-term relationships with other users. For example, a veterinarian could post tips for looking after pets, timing them according to when particular health issues arise (e.g. ticks in summer). You should also listen as much as you talk. Paying attention to what the market thinks about your business, your industry, a product or a marketing campaign can provide valuable insights. 5) Provide customer support Customers can post after-sales questions on your Facebook wall, and your staff can answer them there. This is often more efficient than staff answering phone calls, and allows other customers to read common questions and answers without having to approach you individually. 6) Raise brand awareness and promote positive word-of-mouth You can increase your business s profile on Facebook by encouraging existing and potential customers to click the Like button on your Facebook page. Once they like your page, your customers will receive your updates on their wall, where their friends will also see them. This helps to build awareness of your business, and to associate your friends with your brand. Customers can also post positive messages about your products or services, shared on their walls for all their friends to see. 7) Facebook can steer traffic to your website You can include a link to your website on your Facebook page. Indeed, many businesses report that the greatest benefit of Facebook is the extra traffic that it steers to their site. Visitors who come to the website can be exposed to stronger marketing messages and, often, the option of buying goods and services. Customers who come to your website from Facebook are likely to be more receptive than the average visitor, because they already know something about your business and were motivated to click the website link. 8) Targeted advertising Facebook can analyze all the information that millions of users enter into their profiles. As the owner of a business page, you can pay to use this information to deliver targeted advertising to a specific group.
7 LinkedIn - Here are 7 benefits of LinkedIn that professionals should take advantage of: 1) Make smart, right connections. This is where the professional community engages, interacts, connects and refers. Start your process on LinkedIn if you want to get a company or person to notice you. Develop your profile, put up a professional head shot, link your blog, and post good content often. 2) Who do you want to meet? Make a target list of who you want to meet-companies and people. Make LinkedIn a prospecting, research and engagement tool. Use the information you gather to send thoughtful, smart messages. 3) Who do you want to meet you? This is where mutual magnetism works both ways. There are people we all want to meet for the value they bring to us, but there is value in what you bring to others too. Use your connections, wisdom, experience and personality to both meet people and initiate people meeting you. Develop your profile and keep it up to date! 4) Link up on LinkedIn: Identify people in your sphere and community that would be great to meet each other and make introductions. When you want to be connected, those connections you made can come in very handy! 5) The Rules of Engagement: There is etiquette on all the social platforms, but especially LinkedIn. Just because we connect doesn t give anyone permission to start sending frequent, non-permission based sales s. Spend some time interacting with people, supporting their content, causes and company before launching into salesy stuff. 6) Use brand power your brand, your company brand, your industry brand: LinkedIn is the perfect environment to leverage brand power. Remember there s your brand, your company brand and your industry brand. Promote and connect all three and watch relationships grow. 7) You + new media = smart connections: Your strategic, consistent and value driven communications used in a thoughtful way on LinkedIn can and will open doors. LinkedIn is a great place to start, it makes it easy to add Twitter, your blog and other sites that all work together to professionally present you in a single page snapshot. Twitter - Top 8 Benefits of Using Twitter for Your Business The need for every business out there to be on twitter cannot be overemphasized. Being on twitter will give your business a competitive edge over tons of businesses that are yet to realize the benefits. If you run a business and still don t see the advantages why your business needs to be on twitter, here are 8 reasons that will help you understand why twitter is a must for your business. 1) It is free: Honestly I am not taking this to be a reason why you should be on twitter. I just wanted to make it clear to you that not having money is not a barrier for not being on twitter. 2) It s has a large market: With over 200 million active users on twitter, this is definitely a big market to ignore and not to take advantage of. 3) It brings you closer to your customers: Joining twitter will make you feel closer to your customers. It allows you to connect with hundreds or thousands of customers who you have no other way of reaching. With twitter, you can monitor what customers are saying about you. If they are complaining about your services, let them know you are sorry and give them the reason to stick with you by improving your products/services. If your customers says well about your services then try to keep them happy and keep improving on your services. 4) It lets your customers stay in touch with the latest happenings of your business: The moment a client or someone interested in your business follows you on twitter, whenever you post a new tweet consigning your business they get to see it. One thing you can do is post new promotions or discounts. 5) It allows you to spy on your competitor: You can use twitter to keep an eye on your competitors. You can see what your competitors are saying and its customers by reading through their tweets. If you are able to find a loophole in your competitors services which makes their clients complain, you can just tweet that client by just simply saying hey, I can see you have a problem with That s just an example. would advise you to follow your competitor too. 6) It helps you increase sale: Just imagine your business has a thousand followers on twitter, twitting a new product, service or promotion can lead to new opportunities. So with this, I ve concluded getting more twitter followers should be one of your business's aims. 7) Brand loyalty: Once your business (and its brand) has become known for great service and customer supports, your customers will be loyal to your brand. Even in times of economic struggle, most of your customers will stay loyal and your customers tend to help you market your business without you even knowing. 8) It helps you keep up to date with what s going on your industry: By following the news channel and publications relating to your business, you will get the latest on what s going on in your industry
8 Yelp is the best way to find great local businesses and get your business recognized in your area. People use Yelp to search for everything from the city's tastiest burger to commercial and residential services they need. Local businesses love and fear Yelp and with good reason. By putting reviews into the hands of the everyman (and woman), businesses can only bite their nails and hope for the best. Maybe that s why you re hesitant to put your own business on Yelp? Don t be! The internet is changing, and the way people find services and businesses is changing. And if you re missing from the places they re searching, you re missing out. Yelp is for ALL kinds of local businesses restaurants, hotels, hospitals, spas, plumbers, service companies, janitorial companies, contractors, doctors, and dentists literally any kind of consumer-facing firm. The site has over 15 million reviews and gets tens of millions of visitors a month. If you re not listed, you re missing out on a BIG source of new business! Benefits of Adding Your Business To Yelp You definitely need Yelp to help you with your business local reputation and exposure: 1) Access to the locals: Just like talking to the locals in person, Yelp helps you connect with local people who are already looking around town for things like YOUR business. Get valuable feedback and stay on top of your customers wants and desires! 2) Reviews to boost your reputation: Ask a few happy customers to write up reviews for you on Yelp and start boosting your rep. EVERY time you have a happy customer, ask them to place a quick review on Yelp. 3) Go where your audience already is: Look, everyone s online, and they re often turning to Yelp for recommendations (just check out the stats above!) You need to be there when you re a local business. Your NANO-CONCEPTS marketing team is ready to serve you. Please call with any questions or if you need help in marketing your company to be successful! Best Wishes, Steve Cassidy Head of Marketing
