1 12 REGULATIONS OF UNDERGRADUATE KAZAKH NATIONAL UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER AL-FARABI This provision establishes the requirements for the content of education, educational trajectories of students, development of educational programs, their structure and assess the level of preparedness of students of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi (hereinafter - the University). 1. General provisions 1. The University trains specialists with higher education (undergraduate and graduate) in accordance with: 1) classifier of higher and postgraduate education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; 2) these Regulations and the core curriculum of higher education specialties; 3) academic calendar; 4) individual curriculum students; 5) working curricula of specialties; 6) The curriculum for the discipline. 2. Persons who have successfully passed the final examination for the development of a professional curriculum of higher education, academic degree "Bachelor" or are awarded the qualification. 3. The application of this provision is intended to achieve the following objectives: 1) improving the quality of higher education on the basis of the mandatory requirements for the training of students and educational activities of higher education institutions; 2) ordering the rights of all subjects of the educational activity; 3) increasing the objective and informative assessment of the level of training of students and the quality of educational programs; 4) creation of conditions for academic mobility of students; 4. Basic, standard and working curricula of specialties must comply with the requirements of this Regulation and to define a set of requirements for the structure, scope and content of educational programs, regulatory terms of training and level of training of students.общие положения 5. Within the specialty of higher education by the University independently developed a variety of educational programs in accordance with the national framework of qualifications, professional standards and agreed with the Dublin descriptors and the European Qualifications Framework. 6. Requirements for the content of education

2 7. The structure of educational programs is formed from different types of training activities, defining the content of education, and reflects their relationship, measurement and accounting. 8. The educational program includes undergraduate: 1) theoretical training, including learning cycles public compulsory module, the basic vocational modules, modules of individual educational trajectories of interdisciplinary modules, socio-communicative and estvennonauchnogo module; or mandatory cycles, basic and majors. 2) additional types of training - various kinds of professional practices, physical training, military training, etc.; 3) intermediate and final certification. At the same time educational programs for undergraduate university designed based on a modular system of studying disciplines. 9. The implementation of educational programs is based on the teaching materials and specialty disciplines. 10. Accounting complexity of educational work carried out in terms of the material taught and measured in credits, is a measure of student workload and teachers needed to achieve specific learning outcomes. Students learn each discipline in one academic period, after which sit a final exam in the form of control, with the exception of all kinds of professional practice course work (projects), which pass differentiated offset. 14. In all forms of curricula with a uniform coding system of disciplines, providing for the assignment of each discipline curriculum relevant code in the character is alphabetic and digital expression. 15. State compulsory module consists of the disciplines of history of Kazakhstan, professionally-oriented foreign language, professionally-oriented Kazakh (Russian) language, philosophy of scientific knowledge. 16. Socio-communicative module forming competence-based communication for selfactualization and realization of personal potential and aimed at identifying the person as a member of the multi-ethnic and multi-religious society, consists of a list of elective courses. This module defines a learner himself, choosing from a list he needed discipline. 17. Block professional disciplines consists of basic vocational modules (mandatory), modules of individual educational trajectories (a component of choice), natural science module (mandatory), an interdisciplinary module (a component of choice). 18. Required component acts fundamental core of the educational program, having the general cultural, national importance, and specialty in general, which provides a unified educational space in the country. The exception is the reduced educational programs on the basis of technical and vocational education, post-secondary education or higher education. 19. The component of the selection takes into account the specifics of socio-economic development of the region and the particular needs of the labor market, established scientific schools, as well as the interests of the individual student. 20. Depending on the specific individual disciplines state compulsory module and sociocommunicative module eliminated or transferred to the professional modules. 21. The structure of the educational program of higher education is given in Tables 1 and The educational activities carried out by the planning of the educational process, the content of education, the choice of the training sessions, independent work of students, forms the final control of their academic achievements. 23. The structure of educational content is determined in accordance with the requirements of the accounting and measurement instruments of education: curriculum and programs, the volume of training load, duration of academic periods, types of academic studies, the volume of educational material. 24. Planning and organizing educational activities are carried out on the basis of the curriculum. Curricula are divided into basic (PMO), individual (FTI) and workers (RUP). 25. The PMO developed for specific specialties of higher education on the basis of this Regulation and approved by the Academic Council of the University.

3 In PMO determined the complexity of each discipline mandatory component and the component of choice for each cycle of academic disciplines, and each type of training activities (practice, state exams, writing and defending a thesis) in credits. 26. In addition to the PMO annually developed a catalog of disciplines, which is a systematic annotated list of all disciplines. The Catalogue disciplines reflect the prerequisites of each discipline. The directory must provide students with the opportunity of an alternative choice of individual educational trajectory. 27. On the basis of the PMO and the Catalogue of disciplines in the specialty student faculty advisor is using IPM. FTI defines individual educational trajectory of each student. In FTI included discipline and learning activities (practice, the state exam, writing and defense of a thesis (project) from the PMO and discipline component selection from a catalog of disciplines. In order to prevent chaotic students to choose elective courses and implementation of the University's educational programs within the PMO and the Catalogue of disciplines represented on the selection of students several educational paths - lists of elective courses and the sequence of their learning allows students to "output" in the specialty of higher education to master the educational program that focuses on specific areas to meet the needs of the labor market and employers 28. RUE developed for the academic year on the basis of the PMO and specialty IUPov students and approved by the rector of the university on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council. Training programs are divided into basic and syllabuses. 30. Core Curriculum (GPRS) developed in the disciplines of compulsory component and approved by the Academic Council of the University. 31. Syllabus (of disciplines) are developed in all disciplines of the curriculum and the Academic Council of the Faculty. At the same time, their development in the disciplines of compulsory component is based on the GPRS and the disciplines of the component of choice - the department of their own. 32. Self-study is divided into two types - for independent work that is performed under the supervision of a teacher (SRSP), and the part that is performed entirely by students themselves (CDS). 33. SRSP is kind of extracurricular student work that is done to them in contact with the teacher, on a separate schedule, which is not included in the overall schedule of training sessions. During the SRSP is consulted on the most complex issues of the curriculum, homework, course projects (works), the control semester papers, reports, and other types of jobs CDS. 34. The university implemented following cycles typical work of teachers and students. 1) The type single cycle of the teacher and students (RPS) includes the following three main functions. The first function of the teacher - the installation (introduction to the topic, setting goals, objectives, description of the practical usefulness, and the essence of the relationship the main sections of content material, advice on working with teaching materials and others.). That should be enough for further independent work of students. The second function of the teacher - a consultative and an adjustment. It consists in providing advice on the implementation of educational activities in self-study, an individual consultation and implementation of appropriate corrective action. The third function of the teacher - test and evaluation. It involves assessment of knowledge and skills of students in various forms (written or oral examination, testing, etc..), The organization of the dialogue to identify their main difficulties demonstration teacher "right" actions, interactions, standard ways of working in the position of an expert or inspector. 2) Typical single cycle of independent work of students under the guidance of a teacher (SRSP) includes the following four main functions. The first - suggests the implementation of active perception of the students of the teacher information obtained during orientation sessions on a subject. The second function assumes that the students independently, based on the recommendations of the teacher, study training manuals, literature, do their homework, checking and term papers, etc. At this stage, students need to understand the methods of work, fixing their difficulties, self-organization and self-discipline. The third function of the students is to analyze and systematize their difficult situations, identifying the causes of difficulties in understanding and assimilation of educational material,

4 the implementation of other educational activities. Students translate intractable difficulties in questions for the teacher (rank them, organize, process), build their own versions of the answers to these questions. The fourth function is outstanding students to the teacher for the appropriate explanations, advice, counseling. 35. The University provides educational process in its entirety with all the necessary information sources: textbooks, manuals, manuals and development in various academic disciplines, active handouts and instructions for independent work, electronic textbooks, access to network educational resources. Each student is provided with guide-books for the entire period of study. 36. When planning the educational process is guided by the norms of university education component distribution undergraduate programs in accordance with Annexes 1 (for undergraduate) and 2 (for higher special education) hereto. 3. Requirements for the maximum academic load for students 37. The amount of student workload measured in credits, mastered them during the school year for each discipline or type of academic work. 38. One academic hour of classroom work is 50 minutes. The exception is the studio and laboratory classes as well as classes of physical education, where academic hour is 75 minutes, respectively - for studio sessions or 100 minutes - for laboratory studies and physical education classes. One training all practices, the final certification of students is 50 minutes. 40. In planning the volume of academic work based on the fact that one credit equals 15 academic hours: 1) the student's classroom work during the academic period in the form of the semester; 2) The student's work with the teacher during professional practice; 3) student work on writing and protection of degree work (project); 4) student work on the preparation and delivery of state examination in the specialty. 41. The student workload is determined by the duration of the academic hours and the amount of training hours (contact hours 50 minutes) accompanying academic hours for different types of educational work. One academic hour of classroom work can be equal to 50, 75 or 100 minutes. Academic hours of classroom work student complemented the corresponding number of hours CPC so that one loan total student workload per week during the academic period in the form of a semester is 3 hours. Collectively contact hours of student work with the teacher during lectures and practical (seminar) classes are accompanied by 2 hours CDS for each contact hour. Physical training are not accompanied by additional hours of CDS. Each academic hour practice (except for training) is accompanied by a corresponding number of additional teaching hours of student work: 1 hour - for pedagogical practice, 4 hours - for industrial practice. Each academic hour final certification is one per hour (50 minutes), the contact of the student with the teacher on writing and protection of degree work (project) or the student's work with the teacher to prepare and pass the state exam. Each academic hour final certification of students accompanied by six hours of CDS. 42. The school year consists of academic periods, the period of interim certification, practices and holidays. At the graduation course in the academic year include the amount of the final certification. 43. The total duration of the school year must be at least 36 weeks. 44. Academic period is a semester of 15 weeks. 45. Each academic period ends a period of interim assessment of students, the duration of which shall be at least 1 week. 46. During the interim assessment of final control is carried out in all subjects studied, taking into account estimates of current progress (the arithmetic average of estimates obtained from current and boundary controls) are displayed in the disciplines of final grades. The final assessment on discipline share assessment of the current performance shall be not less than 60%, while the share of the final evaluation of control - not less than 30%. 47. Holidays are available to students for at least 2 times during the school year, the total duration of which must be at least 7 weeks, with the exception of the graduating class. 48. Professional practice is an essential component of professional higher education programs. It is divided into a training, educational, industrial and pre-diploma.

5 The total amount of all kinds of professional practices must be at least 6 credits. By specialty group "Education" amount of professional practice can range from 6 to 20 credits for specialty group "Engineering and Technology" - from 6 to 15 credits. Duration 1 credit practices per week is 0.5 weeks for educational practice, 1 week - for pedagogical practice, 2.5 weeks - for the industrial practice. 49. Planning for the final certification of students in weeks determined based on the standard time students work during the week of 54 hours (9 hours per day, including CDS, at 6- day work week). One credit corresponds to the final certification of 105 (15x7) hours, ie, 2 weeks. Of these, 15 contact hours of student work with the teacher and 90 hours CDS. The preparation and delivery of state examination in the specialty have 1 credit, ie 2 weeks. Writing and defense of a thesis (project) is given 2 credits, ie, 4 weeks respectively. In the 2 credits includes registration and protection of degree work (project). The very process of implementation of the thesis (project) is carried out in advance in the course of professional practice and in the final stage of theoretical training. 50. Allowed the introduction of additional (winter or summer) semester (except for the final year) of at least 6 weeks to meet the needs for additional training, the elimination of academic debt, or the difference in the curriculum, the study of academic disciplines and development loans to students from other universities with mandatory perezachetom them in his high school, raising GPA (GPA). 51. The main criterion of completion of the educational process for the preparation of the bachelor is the development of a student for at least 129 credits of theoretical training and at least 6 credits of practice, at least 2 credits for writing and defense of a thesis (project) and at least one credit for preparation and delivery state examination in the specialty (except students set on ESC). Given the specificity of certain professions (including programs of higher vocational education), the main criteria for completion of the educational process may be the development of a student: 52. Material and technical high school is focused on the expansion of its technical and technological capabilities. For studies on languages and linguistic disciplines, as well as the organization of independent work of students have language laboratories and similar equipment. The University provides each student base of professional practice, in accordance with the profile of specialty. 58. Implementation of the educational programs of higher education at the university provides free access to each student's information resources and library collections, the availability of manuals and guidelines for all modules, disciplines and in all types of training

The University provides students access to educational, scientific, information databases, including international data sources available in electronic libraries. Requirements for the level of training of students 61. Learning outcomes are determined based on the Dublin descriptors of the first level (bachelor) and expressed in terms of competence. Descriptors first level implies the ability to: 1) demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the study area, including elements of the most advanced knowledge in this area; 2) to apply this knowledge and understanding in a professional manner; 3) formulate arguments and solve problems in the study area; 4) to collect and interpret information to make judgments taking into account social, ethical and scientific considerations; 5) communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions, both specialists and nonspecialists. 62. General competence of graduates of the University are formed on the basis of the requirements for general education, social and ethical competence, economic, organizational and managerial competencies, special competencies. 63. The requirement for general education: 1) have a basic knowledge in the field of natural sciences (social, humanitarian, economic) disciplines that contribute to the formation of a highly educated person with a broad outlook and culture of thinking; 2) have the skills to handle modern technology, to be able to use information technology in the field of professional activity; 3) have the skills to acquire new knowledge necessary for everyday professional and continuing education in the magistracy. 64. Requirements for the social and ethical competencies: 1) to know the social and ethical values based on public opinion, traditions, customs, social norms and navigate to them in their professional activities; 2) comply with the standards of business ethics, own ethical and legal standards of conduct; 3) to know the traditions and culture of the peoples of Kazakhstan; 4) to be tolerant to the traditions and culture of other nations; 5) know the basics of the legal system and legislation of Kazakhstan; 6) Know the trend of social development; 7) to be able to adequately orient in different social situations; 8) be able to work in a team, correctly defend his point of view, offer new solutions; 9) to be able to find compromises, relate their opinion with the opinion of the team; 10) Strive for professional and personal growth. 65. Requirements for the economic, organizational and managerial competencies: 1) have the basics of economic knowledge, have the scientific understanding of management, marketing, finance, etc.; 2) know and understand the goals and methods of state regulation of the economy, the role of the state sector in the economy. 66. Requirements for Preparedness change the social, economic, professional roles, geographical and social mobility in terms of increasing the dynamism of change and uncertainty: 1) be able to navigate in today's information flows and adapt to rapidly changing phenomena and processes in the world economy; 2) be flexible and mobile in different conditions and situations related to professional activities; 3) be skilled in the decision-making of economic and organizational uncertainty and risk. 67. Special competencies are developed for each specialty of higher education on the basis of professional standards to meet the requirements of employers and social demands of society.
