The Institute supports and promotes best practice; working to ensure people across the state, no matter where they live, are provided the same high quality treatment and care that is vital to optimising the outcomes and quality of life for people diagnosed with cancer. Driven by the purpose and objectives of the NSW Cancer Plan, the Institute continuously works to: reduce the incidence of cancer increase the survival rate for people with cancer improve the quality of life of people living with cancer provide a source of expertise on cancer control for the government, health service providers, medical researchers and the general community In order to achieve this, the Institute engages with the community, health professionals, researchers, governments and charity organisations to: provide information, resources and advice about preventing cancer promote the importance of early detection through cancer screening programs and community awareness provide grants that build research capacity and foster innovation in, and translation of, cancer research into improved cancer outcomes maintain quality information repositories about cancer in NSW to inform future policy and health planning establish partnerships with cancer healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate programs to improve the quality of cancer treatment and care in NSW 1
2 Primary purpose of the role Manage and coordinate the enterprise and business architecture creation and development, and systems innovation through to solutions delivery to support the IT objectives of the Institute whilst driving increased efficiency and effectiveness Key accountabilities Lead the establishment of and improvements to enterprise and business architecture, working across portfolios to develop and enhance quality and ensure optimal solution provision with value for money and benefits realisation Collaborate and partner with stakeholders on the development of IT solutions to ensure delivery of organisational requirements with optimal quality and value resulting in tangible business benefit Provide strategic and responsive advice to the CIO and senior executives and report regularly on progress and achievements to support informed IT decision making and planning Capture and prioritise market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, identifying the business benefits of alternative strategies and preparing business models, business cases and feasibility studies to underpin and contribute to the delivery of quality solutions Research and pursue areas for the development of new and innovative related technologies, capturing and prioritising market and environmental trends and business strategies and objectives to ensure innovation in systems and solutions delivery and improved systems performance Lead the ongoing governance and management of the Institute s Enterprise and Business Architecture including compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions, setting strategies, policies, standards, and practices to ensure alignment with and achievement of governance obligations and requirements Lead the development of architecture for complex systems and ensure systems and solutions delivery to provide optimal solutions in meeting the needs of the organisation Direct IT portfolio of projects making sure program managers follow project protocols and achieve successful outcomes Key challenges Maintaining current knowledge of industry and whole of government strategic directions and standards given a rapidly changing environment Working collaboratively with Institute stakeholders to ensure strong working relationships are formed, business requirements are understood and expectations are met given the diversity of stakeholders and their requirements Managing complex and diverse program requirements given an environment characterised by competing priorities, tight deadlines and legislative frameworks Key relationships Who Internal CIO Executive team Why Provide strategic support for ICT initiatives, report on activities and programs of work Gain support and commitment for enterprise and business architecture development, standards and compliance Gain support for recommended strategies and solutions Role Description Enterprise Architect and Solutions Delivery Manager 2
