5 Service to the Profession ü : Competency Map Committee: Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Competency Map Committee: Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, various, Canada. This national committee is responsible for developing and updating a competency map to be used for the Uniform Final Evaluation (UFE), a set of 13-hour national exams written by Chartered Accountant candidates. The Competency Map Committee (CMC) works in consultation with the provincial institutes of Chartered Accountants and is accountable to the Education and Qualifications Committee (EQC) of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Appointment to this committee is for a three-year term commencing November 2010 and was made by nomination from the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Atlantic Canada and Bermuda. ü : Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Team-taught in the four-day International Financial Reporting Standards Immersion course for the CICA ü : Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland. Taught Professional Development seminars to Chartered Accountants in Newfoundland. Topics included current accounting developments and International Financial Reporting Standards. ü : Chartered Accountants of Bermuda. Taught Professional Development seminars to Chartered Accountants in Bermuda. Topics included current accounting developments and International Financial Reporting Standards. ü 2010: College of the North Atlantic, St. John's, Newfoundland. Developed and delivered a professional development session for accounting faculty of the College of the North Atlantic: 'Teaching Financial Accounting in a Multi-GAAP Environment' ü 2009: Supreme Court of Newfoundland. Developed and delivered a professional development session, 'Show Me the Money' for the 2009: Supreme Court of Newfoundland. Developed and delivered a professional development session, 'Show Me the Money' for the province's 26 Supreme Court Justices. Subsequent to the presentation, I was invited to offer a similar session at a national conference of Supreme Court Justices. ü 2009: Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy. Moderated a discussion panel at 'The New Multi-GAAP Environment: Morphing Your Accounting Curriculum to Adapt' seminar in Halifax, Nova Scotia (November 2009).
