1 #1 Subject: The Most Effective Online Marketing Tool in the World Want to know the marketing technique that has made the biggest difference in my business over the last five years? It s not Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or face- to- face networking. The marketing tool that changed my business (and my life) is marketing. Five years ago, when I started paying attention to growing and nurturing my mailing list, I started having some HUGE breakthroughs in my business. Since then, I ve built a large, responsive list of subscribers who read (and comment on) my blog posts, sign up for coaching services, and buy my products. My efforts to grow and nurture my list are at the core of all of my online marketing efforts. marketing is (hands down) the most effective thing I ve ever done for my business. And when I started teaching my marketing system to my clients, they got exactly the same results more traffic, more connections, and more sales. As it turns out, the data backs up our experiences with marketing. A recent study by McKinsey said, E- mail remains a significantly more effective way to acquire customers than social media nearly 40 times that of Facebook and Twitter combined." So it s definitely a good idea to focus on marketing. But how exactly do you do that? If you don t have a list, how do you build one? If you already have an list, what do you do with it? Even today, my list is still my #1 business priority and asset. Facebook expert Amy Porterfield says: The energy of your business is directly tied to your list. Only one mode of communication with your ideal prospects remains steadfast in the face of a changing social media landscape . But why exactly is building a list the key to a blogger or business owner s success? Why is it so important? Here are 4 specific reasons you need to focus on building and nurturing your list: 1. subscribers become visitors. When you send notifications about your new content out to your list, your subscribers will visit your blog or website and read your posts. It s like having traffic on demand. Blogger Pat Flynn says he can easily get 20,000 blog visitors (in one day) just by sending one note out to his list. Your subscriber count essentially controls the number of page views you get on your blog so if you need more traffic, the answer is in your list. 2. subscribers comment on your posts. Your visitors are more likely to comment on one of your posts once they are on your list. People need to feel like they are a part of your community before they start commenting, and being on your list helps them feel connected to you. Need more blog comments? Building your list is the best thing you can do.

3 3. subscribers share your posts. People are ten times more likely to share one of your posts via social media once they join your list. As your list grows, your number of social shares will rise accordingly. If you d like to have one of your posts go viral or even just receive a few more shares on Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter it s a good idea to focus on marketing and list building. 4. s subscribers buy your stuff more often. People are considerably more likely to buy your products and services if they know, like and trust you. When they re on your list and you re sending them good content on a regular basis, it s easier for them to do all three! If your goal is to bringing in revenue, you should focus on building your list. Worried that is dead, or that it s being replaced with social media tools? Don t fret. 91% of American adults still check every day, and it's still a far more effective marketing tool than any social networking site. marketing is not dead it s actually more important than ever, and it s not going anywhere.
