3 1.Introduction to Comodo LoginPro Comodo LoginPro (CLP) allows you to access and control any computer you own from anywhere in the world. After installing the client software on your target computers, you can access them remotely by signing in at The application also allows you to get expert help with any problems you may be having with your computer. LoginPro is fast and easy to setup, does not require expert configuration and is suitable for users of any experience levels. Main Features: 1-Click connection to any computer you own from anywhere in the world just by logging in at Login Pro client software extends functionality by allowing you to add multiple users and manage advanced settings Easily share large files and printers across computers without complicated VPN setup Simplifies RDP connections between you and your fellow users Be up and running in minutes! To add a remotely managed computer, you must first (i) have installed the Windows client on each computer you wish to add (ii) be logged into LoginPro via the client at that computer. Please ensure that you are logged in to Windows itself with an Admin account on each machine. Installing LoginPro Client Registering a LoginPro Account Access your Computers through the Web Interface 2.1.Installing the LoginPro Client Comodo LoginPro is available for Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP and can be downloaded from Installing LoginPro After downloading Comodo LoginPro setup file to your local hard drive, double click on Setup.exe installation wizard. to the start the Step 1: Welcome Screen The set up program will start automatically and the 'Welcome screen' of the installation wizard will be displayed. At this time, you may continue with the Comodo LoginPro Setup program or cancel the installation process. 4
5 Click 'Next' to continue. Step 2: End User License Agreement Complete the initialization phase by reading and accepting the End User License Agreement (EULA). Click 'I Agree' to continue installation. If you want to cancel the installation, click 'Cancel'. Step 3: Choosing Installation Location The next stage allows you to select the LoginPro installation folder. The default installation location is 'C:\Program Files\Comodo\LoginPro\'. 5
6 If you want to install the application to a different location, click 'Browse'. Click 'Next' to begin installation. Step 4: Setup Progress Installation will begin and the progress will be displayed. Step 5: Finalizing the Installation On completion, the 'Completing the wizard' dialog will be diaplayed. 6
7 Click 'Finish' to complete installation and exit the wizard. The LoginPro client can now be started using one of the following methods: Start Menu - Click Start > All Programs > Comodo > LoginPro > LoginPro Control Panel. Tray icon - Double click on the LoginPro system tray icon to start the application. On completion of installation, the new account registration/login wizard will start. Please refer to the following section Registering your LoginPro Account and Logging-in to your Account for guidance on creating a new account / logging-in to the client if you already have an account and configuring the client. 7
8 2.2.Registering your LoginPro Account and Logging-in to your Account Once the LoginPro client is installed on your system, you can create a LoginPro account if you are a new user or login to LoginPro through the client if you already have an account. Alternatively, you can create your account at and login to the client using the same credentials. Please refer to the section Creating your account through the web interface for more details. After completion of installation, the account registration/login wizard will start. The wizard allows: New users to create a LoginPro account Existing users to login to the client Configure the Remote Desktop Service settings New Account Registration Step 1 - Providing user details If you are a new user, click on the 'Register New Account' tab and fill-in the registration form. New Account Registration Form - Table of Parameters Login Enter your preferred login username. Please note that the username is case sensitive hence you need to enter your username in the same manner while logging into your account in future, both from LoginPro client and the web interface. Your Address Enter your address. Password Enter your preferred password for your loginpro account. The password is same for logging-in to your account from both the LoginPro client and the web interface. 8
9 Confirm Password Re-enter the password for confirmation. Fields marked with * are mandatory. After completing the details, click 'Register&Continue'. Your account will be registered and the progress will be indicated. On successful registration, a confirmation message will be displayed. Click OK. The wizard will move to Step 2 Identifying your computer Logging-in to your Account Step 1 - Entering your credentials If you have already created an account, click the 'Existing LoginPro User' tab 9
10 Enter your login username and password in respective fields and click 'Next'. The wizard will move move to Step 2 Identifying your computer. Step 2 - Identifying your computer The wizard allows you to specify a friendly name for the computer. Your computer will be identified with this name both in the web interface and the LoginPro client interface of other computers. 10
11 Enter a name for your computer in the field and click 'Next'. Step 3 - Remote Desktop Service settings Next step allows you to accept or deny Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection requests from other computers through LoginPro and to specify whether other users of the computer can access this computer through LoginPro. 11
12 If you wish to allow this computer to be connected through RDP from other computers, keep the 'Turn RDP on' check box selected. If you are planning to use this computer only to access other computers and not to allow other computers to connect to this computer deselect the check box. If 'Turn RDP on' check box is selected, specify whether only the administrative users or all the users of the computer can connect to this computer through RDP service by choosing the respective radio buttons. Enable only me and system administrators - The LoginPro client will allow only the users with administrative privileges to access this computer through RDP through their LoginPro accounts. Enable for all users - The LoginPro client will allow all the users of the computer to access this computer through RDP through their LoginPro accounts. Click 'Finish' to exit the wizard. Your LoginPro client is now configured. The client will connect to the LoginPro server using the login credentials supplied and enables to be connected through the web interface. The connection status will be displayed at the system tray icon. You can install the client on all the computers that you wish to be accessible remotely and login with the same username and password as described earlier. 2.3.Access your Computers through the Web Interface As a reminder, please make sure you have installed the client and have signed-in to LoginPro at each machine that you wish to be able to control remotely. Please also make sure you are logged into Windows as an administrator. Next, visit through your favorite Internet browser and log-in at the website with your username and password. 12
13 If you are logging-in from a particular machine without the LoginPro client installed, for the first time, you will be asked to install a browser plugin: You can still connect to your systems without installing the plug-in, but some features such as drive and printer sharing will not be available. We recommend you install the plug-in for maximum functionality, but it is not essential for the core desktop control features of LoginPro. After logging into the website, all PCs associated with your account will be displayed on the 'My Computers' tab. You can connect to any computer that you are currently signed into by clicking the 'Remote Control' button. Computers that are registered with your account but are not currently signed-in will be displayed as 'OFFLINE'. Should you wish, you can remove offline PCs from the screen by clicking the red 'X' at the top right of the box. 13
14 To connect to a PC in the list Click the 'Remote Control' button under the target computer A new tab will open in the interface with the selected computer name. You will be asked to enter the Windows user-name and password of the remote computer in order to complete the connection: Enter your login credentials for the selected computer. If you want LoginPro to save the credentials in this computer, select 'Save Credentials' checkbox. You will not be asked to enter the username and password if you try to connect to the same remote computer from this computer from next time onwards. Once your local credentials have been accepted, you will be able to access the remote computer as though you were sitting in front of it. 14
15 Each computer you connect to will get its own tab with the friendly name of the computer as the tab label. You can connect to multiple computers simultaneously simply by returning to the 'My Computers' tab: Click the 'My Computer' tab at the top right. Click 'Show Computer' for every additional computer that you wish to connect to. Make sure the computer does not have 'Offline' status. To Switch between the computers, click respective tabs. To disconnect from a remote computer, simply close its tab. 3.The Web Interface LoginPro web interface can be accessed at The web interface allows you to share files, printers and music files between the computer you are using and any remote controlled computers. Sharing items requires that you installed the browser plug-in on the host computer so may not be available to you if you were not allowed to do this (for example, if you are at an Internet cafe or you are a non-admin user). You need to login to your account at the web interface for accessing your computers installed with the LoginPro client and connected to the LoginPro server. If you have already registered your account at the time of installing the LoginPro client on your computer you can use the same username/password to login to your account at More details on registering a new account through the client is available in the section Registering your LoginPro Account and Logging-in to your Account. If you haven't created an account while installing the client, you can create a new account from the web interface. You need to login to the service from the remote machines with the same username/password to have your computers 15
16 accessible from the web interface. For more details on creating an account at the web interface, refer to the section Creating Your Account Through the Web Interface. Click the links below to jump to the relevant section: Creating your account through the web interface Using the Web Interface 3.1.Creating Your Account Through the Web Interface The LoginPro web interface allows you to register a new account and use the account to access your remote computers, if you haven't registered your account at the time of installing the LoginPro client. To have your remote machines accessible from the web interface you need to login with the same account through the LoginPro client installed in each of them. To create a new account Open the webpage at your favorite browser and click 'Create Account'. Alternatively, click the 'Create Account' at the title bar of the Comodo LoginPro client interface. 16
17 You will be taken to the account registration page of Comodo LoginPro. Fill-in the registration form. New Account Registration Form - Table of Parameters Login Enter your preferred login username. Please note that the username is case sensitive hence you need to enter your username in the same manner while logging into your account in future, both from LoginPro client and the web interface. Your Address Enter your address. Password Enter your preferred password for your loginpro account. The password is same for logging-in to your account from both the LoginPro client and the web interface. Confirm Password Re-enter the password for confirmation. Fields marked with * are mandatory. After completing the details, click 'Register&Continue'. Your account will be created. 17
18 You can use this username and password to login to your account from the LoginPro clients installed in your remote machines. If you want to add the machine you are currently using, click 'Add Current Computer'. This will download the client, enabling you to install it and login through it. 3.2.Using the Web Interface You can login to the Comodo LoginPro web interface and access your remote computers from any part of the world as if you are sitting in front of them. As a reminder, please first make sure you have first installed the client, created your LoginPro account and have signed-in at each machine that you wish to be able to control remotely. To access the web interface Visit through your favorite Internet browser and Sign-in at the website with your username and password. 18

Each box displays the name of the computer, its Operating System and the screen resolution at which the desktop of the remote computer will be displayed in the LoginPro web interface. Each computer box enables you to: Change the name of the computer Optimize connection speed, color depth and screen resolution Connect to the computer and take remote access Computers that are not currently signed-in will be displayed as 'OFFLINE'. Should you wish, you can remove offline PCs from the screen by clicking the 'X' at the top right of the box. 19
20 Changing name of computer The title bar of each computer box displays the name of the computer. You can change this name by which LoginPro identifies the computer to a friendly name for your ease. To change the name Click on the name. Directly edit the name and click the tick mark The name will be changed. Configuring Remote Control Connection Settings he Remote Desktop settings interface enables you to configure the color depth and screen resolution for the remote computer in the web interface. To configure Remote Desktop Settings Click 'Settings' from the computer box. The 'Remote Desktop settings' interface will open. 20
21 Choose the display color depth at which you want to have the remote desktop to be displayed from the 'Color depth' drop-down Choose the screen resolution at which you want to have the remote desktop to be displayed from the 'Resolution' drop-down Click OK for your settings to take effect. Connecting to a computer and take remote access You can connect to any computer online by clicking the 'Remote Control' button. A new tab will open in the interface with the selected computer name. To disconnect from a remote computer, simply close its tab. 4.Access your Computers Through the LoginPro Client The LoginPro client installed on your computer allows you to quickly take desktop control of other computer(s) with a single click and to share files and printers between the computers. The tray-to-tray connection feature is very useful for example, if you ever want to access your files at your home computer while you are at work or need to provide (or receive) assistance to (or from) a friend with a computer problem. Note: For remote desktop connection, all the computers involved require LoginPro client installed in them and signed-in with the same LoginPro account. Should you need to access friend's computer (or vice-versa) for sharing files, printer or an assistance, you can request your friend to sign-in to LoginPro server with your account credentials through the LoginPro client installed on their computer. The computer will be displayed 'Computers& Connections' tab in the interface and allows you to take remote control with a single click. The 'Computers & Connections' tab in the LoginPro interface displays: A list of computers which are logged-in with your account to LoginPro server in the 'Computers' area and enables you to initiate a remote desktop connection with the required computers. A list of computers currently connected by remote desktop access through LoginPro in the 'Connections' area. 23
24 Each computer box in the 'Computers' area displays the name of the computer, its Operating System and the screen resolution at which the desktop of the remote computer will be displayed in your computer in a Remote Desktop Control window. Each computer box enables you to: Change the name of the computer Optimize performance and configure sharing files and printers Connect to the computer and take remote access and share files and printers Computers that are not currently signed-in will be displayed as 'OFFLINE'. Should you wish, you can remove offline PCs from the screen by clicking the 'X' at the top right of the box. Configuring Remote Control Connection Settings The remote desktop settings area allows you to choose display options for the remote computer, select connection speed, configure drive/printer sharing and specify whether you wish you hear sounds from the remote computer. To configure Remote Desktop Settings Click 'Settings' from the computer box. The 'Remote Desktop settings' interface will open. Select the performance speed of the remote control, based on your network connection speed, from the 'Performance' drop-down 25
26 Choose the display color depth at which you want to have the remote desktop to be displayed from the 'Color depth' drop-down Choose the screen resolution at which you want to have the remote desktop to be displayed from the 'Resolution' drop-down Share my printers - Selecting this option enables you to use the printer connected to your local computer with the remote computer Share my drives - Selecting this enables you to access the drives mounted on your local computer from the remote computer, hence to share files and folders Bring remote sound to this computer - Selecting this option makes the audio played and alert sounds generated at the remote computer to be reproduced at the local computer, enabling you to play music and videos from the remote computer at the local computer. Use all my monitors for the remote session - If you have more than one monitor connected at your local computer selecting this option enables to view the remote desktop control window in any of the monitors. Click OK for your settings to take effect. Connecting to a computer and sharing files and printers You can connect to any computer online by clicking the 'Remote Login' button. After the connection is established, the remote computer's desktop will be displayed in a new 'Remote Desktop' window. You can access the remote computer as though you are sitting in front of it. Also: If you have opted for sharing your drives, the drives mounted on your local computer will be displayed in the My Computer window of the remote computer, enabling to access the drives and share folders and files If you have opted for sharing your printers, the printers connected to your local computer will be made accessible by the remote computer enabling you to print documents and images from the remote computer at your local printer To connect to a remote computer Click the 'Remote Login' button in the required computer box. You will be asked to enter your Windows login credentials for the remote computer in order to complete the connection: 26
27 Enter your username and password for the computer. If the computer is connected to a domain, enter the domain name. If you want LoginPro to save the credentials in this computer, select 'Save Credentials' checkbox. You will not be asked to enter the username and password if you try to connect to the same remote computer from this computer from next time onwards. Once your local credentials have been accepted, LoginPro will initiate a remote desktop control session with the remote computer A new 'Remote Desktop' window will open with the desktop of the remote computer. 27
28 You will be logged-in to the remote computer and can start accessing the remote computer as if you are in front of it. Once the computer is connected successfully, it will be moved from the 'Computers' area to the Connections area in the LoginPro interface. You can connect to multiple computers simultaneously simply by clicking Remote Login button of the respective computer from the 'Computers' area. 28
29 Each computer box in the 'Connections area' area displays the name of the computer, its active connection time and connection time. Connection type: Outgoing - Indicates that your local computer is connected to and controls the remote computer Incoming - Indicates that your local computer is connected to and controlled by a remote computer To disconnect a remote computer, simply close its Remote Desktop window or click X at the top right of the computer box in the 'Connections' area. To disconnect all the computers at once, click 'Disconnect All' at the top right of the 'Connections' area. 4.1.Sharing Files between the Computers LoginPro allows you to share the folders and files between your local computer and remote computers through its tray-to-tray connection feature. To share folders and files Click 'Settings' from the computer box of the required computer in the Computer's area under Computer & Connections box in the LoginPro interface to open 'Desktop Settings' interface 29
30 Ensure that the 'Share my drives' checkbox is selected and click OK. Initiate a remote control session with the remote computer as explained in the section Connecting to a computer and sharing files and printers To access your local drives and share files and folders from the remote computer, open the Windows Explorer in the remote computer. Click Start > My Computer or Click Start > Run > type 'Explorer' Your local drives will be listed under the 'Other' category in the 'My Computer' window of the remote computer. Click on any drive to access its contents. 30
31 Now you can transfer files between computers as if you were are working on a single computer Transferring Files Between Two Remote Computers You can transfer files between two remote computers while logged into the website at a third computer: Open 'Desktop Settings' interface for the first computer by clicking 'Settings' from its computer box under Computer & Connections box in the LoginPro interface, ensure that the 'Share my drives' checkbox is selected and click OK. Initiate a remote control session with the first remote computer as explained in the section Connecting to a computer and sharing files and printers Repeat the same for the second computer Open 'My Computer' window of the first remote computer. The drives mounted in your local computer will be displayed. Drag and drop the required folders/files from the drives of the remote computer to a drive in your local computer. Open 'My Computer' window of the second remote computer. The drives mounted in your local computer will be displayed. Drag and drop the folders/files from your local drives to the required location of the second remote computer. 4.2.Sharing Printers Between Host and Remote Computers LoginPro allows you to share the printers connected to your local computer with the remote computers through its tray-to-tray connection feature, enabling you to print documents from your remote computer directly at the printer near you. To share printers Click 'Settings' from the computer box of the required remote computer in the Computer's area under Computer & Connections box in the LoginPro interface to open 'Desktop Settings' interface 31
32 Ensure that the 'Share my printers' checkbox is selected and click OK. Initiate a remote control session with the remote computer as explained in the section Connecting to a computer and sharing files and printers You can confirm whether your local printer is connected to the remote computer by opening its 'Printers and Faxes' interface. Click 'Start' > 'Printers and Faxes' 32
33 The printer connected to your local computer will be listed in the 'Printers and Faxes' interface of the remote computer. Right-click on the added printer and choose 'Set as default printer' from the context sensitive menu. Now you can use this device to print documents or any other items from the remote computer. 4.3.Playing Media Files from the Remote Computer LoginPro allows you to import the audio played and alert sounds generated at a remote computer into the local computer, so that you can listen to music and watch video from a remote computer from the place where you are. You might be having copyright protected music or video files stored in your own computer located at a remote place or in your friend's computer. You will be able to play those from your current location, without copying those files to your local computer. To play music and video files from a remote computer Click 'Settings' from the computer box of the required remote computer in the Computer's area under Computer & Connections box in the LoginPro interface to open 'Desktop Settings' interface 33
34 Ensure that the 'Bring remote sound to this computer' checkbox is selected and click OK. Initiate a remote control session with the remote computer as explained in the section Connecting to a computer and sharing files and printers. The remote desktop connection with the remote computer will be established. Play the music or video files in the remote desktop window with your favorite media player. The audio will be reproduced in your local computer. 5.Configuring LoginPro Client The 'Settings' panel in the LoginPro interface allows you to configure the overall behavior of the client, assign permissions to other users of your computer to access it from remote locations and proxy server settings. To access the 'Settings' panel, click the Settings tab in the LoginPro interface. 34
35 The following section contain more explanations on configuration of the client. General Settings Proxy Server Settings Configuring permissions to users for remote access 5.1.General Settings The 'General Settings' area allows you to set a friendly name for your computer for identification by LoginPro server and to enable or disable the autostart of the client with the system start-up. 35
36 Friendly name You can enter a friendly name for your computer for identification by LoginPro server. Your computer will be displayed in the LoginPro web interface and the client interfaces of other computers logged-in with the same account with the name specified in this field. Autorun You can configure whether LoginPro client should start automatically with the system start-up or to be started manually. Start before system login - Makes LoginPro client to start and sign-in with your account along with the system start-up Manual start, do not automatically start - The client will not start automatically. You need to start the client manually from the Windows Start menu and sign-in. Advanced Clicking the 'Advanced Settings' button opens the 'Advanced Settings' interface for configuring Proxy Settings, refer to the following section 'Proxy Server Settings' for more details. Click 'Apply' in the Settings panel for your changes to take effect Proxy Server Settings You can configure LoginPro client in your computer to connect to LoginPro server through a proxy server. Open Settings panel by clicking the 'Settings' tab from the 'LoginPro' client interface Click 'Proxy Settings' button to open the 'Advanced Settings' interface 36
37 Select 'Use proxy' if you want LoginPro use the Proxy Server Automatically detect - Select this option if you want the LoginPro client to identify the proxy server settings of your computer and configure itself automatically Manual configuration - Select this option if you want to manually configure the proxy server settings Enter the proxy server IP address or name in the 'Address' text box and enter the port number in the 'Port' text box If your Proxy Server needs authentication, Type your Login ID in the 'Username' text box and enter the password in the 'Password' text box Click Ok to save your settings. Click 'Apply' in the Settings panel for your changes to take effect. 5.2.Configuring Permissions to Users for Remote access The 'Remote Desktop Connection' panel lets you view and specify exactly which users of the computer are able to connect to this computer through LoginPro from remote locations. Connections into this machine can be made by: Clicking 'Remote Control from the web interface Clicking 'Remote Login' from the LoginPro client interface in other computers, logged-in with the same account to LoginPro server. Any members of the Administrator group can also connect, even if they are not listed. To access Remote Desktop Connection panel, click 'Remote Desktop Connection' from the left hand side navigation of the settings interface. 37
38 If you do not want users with limited privileges, other than Administrators, to access this computer through LoginPro, de-select the 'Allow users to connect remotely to this computer check box'. Else leave it selected. The users allowed to access this computer through LoginPro from remote places are listed in the lower panel. Users with Administrative rights are automatically included in the list of allowed users. Changing the users listed here will alter your Windows RDP permissions settings. To grant permission to grant connectivity privileges to other users, Click the 'Add...' button. The Remote Desktop Users dialog dialog will open.
