3 Executive Summary Does your organization have the right alignment of talent with corporate objectives? The war for talent (coined by McKinsey & Company, 1997) is turning out to be quite significant for an organization to meet its corporate goals. Your organization could see a lag in employee retention as well as employee engagement without the right talent management tools. Successful HR transformations in talent management yield substantial enterprise wide benefits, including lower talent acquisition costs, stronger leadership teams, and better financial performance. Our research on the available market tools for our customers quick enablement towards a solid talent management strategy has led us to Oracle s cloud HCM (Human Capital Management) stack of solutions: Taleo and Fusion Talent Management cloud coexistence service. This document outlines our Rapid-Start methodology on this enablement process
4 HR Background Post industrial revolution, organizational strategy and Human Resource Management has evolved considerably. An analysis of the past 40 years reveals the evolutionary trends as indicated. An organization s only sustainable competitive advantage is tied to its HR as it: Is valuable to the firm in that they are key to: o Exploiting opportunities o Overcoming weaknesses o Neutralizing threats Must be rare among competitors Must be difficult for competitors to imitate Strategic management Human Resource management The development of resource-based view of competitive advantage & knowledge-based view of firm brought high attention to the role of individual talent Focus on the individual, and the attempt to secure high commitment and high performance The building of trust relations between employee and firm For an organization to remain competitive it is important for HR to be the link between its vertical and horizontal alignment. For HR to lay emphasis on its horizontal linkage, it is important to spend fewer efforts on support and administrative functions, and focus on empowering its workforce on the below disciplines: Ø Recruit: Hire what is needed Ø Perform: Make sure employees end up performing for what they were hired Ø Develop: Help them learn new stuff and perform even better!!
5 Oracle s Talent Management Strategy Oracle supports multiple strategies for a customer s HR-IT roadmap: - Applications Unlimited : Customers are given the choice to stick with their onpremise Oracle application suite and future releases would be launched periodically - Fusion HCM on-premise : Customers can choose to migrate their whole HR stack to Fusion applications - Taleo and Fusion Talent Management cloud co-existence service: Customers can choose to have niche functionalities in the Taleo and Fusion Talent Management cloud and have their existing Core HR and benefits administration running in any ERP or payroll provider solution (PeopleSoft, E-Business Suite, JD Edwards, SAP, etc.). Our research on the market available tools for a customer s quick enablement towards a solid talent management strategy has led us to Oracle s Taleo and Fusion Talent Management cloud co-existence service, for its Best enterprise wide practice & business process adoption Flexibility and scalability Upgrade ease Integration among each other, Core HR and other ERPs See the appendix for detailed features and benefits of Oracle Fusion Talent management, Oracle Taleo Recruiting and Onboarding and Oracle Taleo Learn. This document outlines our Rapid-Start methodology for a co-existence model between a customer s Core HR on-premise application (PeopleSoft, E-Business Suite, JD Edwards, SAP, etc.) and Oracle s cloud HCM solutions: Taleo Recruiting and Onboarding Fusion Talent Management Taleo Learn Why HRMC? We at HRMC have in-depth knowledge of these products. We have regular communications with the Oracle product development team in USA/India and support/sales teams in Europe, thereby clearly following Oracle s product strategy. Furthermore, our HCM consultants have on average more than 8 years of implementation experience over different industry sectors and geographies, and are well accustomed to managing projects on fixed-bid.
6 Our recommended methodology for co- existence The diagram below shows the integrated co-existence environment between Taleo and Fusion Talent Management cloud service, and on-premise PeopleSoft/ E-Business Suite Core HR (this would be the same if any other ERP or payroll provider solution is used for Core HR). In order to leverage the complete features and benefits of these cloud applications, we recommend a 3-phased approach (order not significant) for an integrated co-existing Oracle HCM stack of solutions to have the right horizontal linkages Ø Phase A: Oracle Taleo Recruiting and Onboarding Ø Phase B: Oracle Fusion Talent Management (& Compensation Management) Ø Phase C: Oracle Taleo Learn Our Rapid- Start (RS) Methodology In order to help our customers quickly have Oracle Fusion Talent solution up and running, we have derived a Rapid-Start approach based on our experience of having implemented a coexistence model between Fusion and PeopleSoft. Our Rapid-Start methodology, prepared by our Oracle Fusion Human Capital Management Rapid Start Specialists, are in strict adherence to Oracle s recommended Rapid-Start program for its partner s customer implementation. Our value proposition to our customers through this methodology is to define: - Concrete Milestones Concrete Activities
7 Concrete Deliverables Fixed price and scope offering This helps us set the right expectations and increase the transparency to our customers. At the end of the Rapid-Start program, our customers are set to take control and ownership of the delivered solution and deploy it into production. Our Rapid-Start approach, for any customer, in Fusion and Oracle Talent (Cloud) management consists of 4 phases as shown below
