What improvements must you make to compete? o What are their weaknesses, and can you fill the need they aren t fulfilling? 8 Marketing Plan Market Demographics: Market Segment What segment of prospective customers with like demographics will you target? Marketing Strategy o USP Unique Selling Proposition What makes your service unique? o SWOT What are your: strengths weaknesses opportunities threats o Predicting your Market Share How much of the target market can you realistically expect to capture? o Marketing Tools and Channels- What marketing strategies are going to be most effective for you to reach your target market? o Marketing Budget - What percentage of your operating budget will go towards marketing? o Marketing Calendar - Will you vary your marketing strategies throughout the year to take advantage of seasonal and/or holiday marketing opportunities? 8 P a g e
9 Financials Start-up Costs - Attach a separate start-up budget including funding sources. Income and Expenses -Attach a separate income and expense sheet Operating Budget- Attach a separate operating budget for 6 months to a year Cash Flow Statement- Attach a separate cash flow and financial projections sheet for 6 months to a year. When projecting future cash flow, keep in mind that there are several issues and/or events that can affect income, such as: Expansion Natural ebb and flow of enrollment cycles Economy Changes in family/location/spouse s income Marketing Funding Sources for Improvements or Expansion - What funding sources will you tap into when you want to expand or make improvements? Long -term Financial Planning - How do you plan to ensure stability and security when you are ready to retire, or during times when you cannot work?
