1 CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Introduction REI Systems (REI) supports industry efforts toward having more accountability and transparency regarding management actions. In addition, REI supports systematic initiatives which help reduce impacts to the environment wherever it intersects with REI s operations. This Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Management System statement establishes the framework for the future to meet these objectives. These objectives will be clearly communicated to all REI employees and will be part of our agreements with our subcontractors and suppliers who perform services on REI premises. Vision Statement REI is committed to reducing its impact on the environment wherever possible. In every instance where REI has an intersection with the environment, we will commit to continually improving our internal management to be more efficient and create less waste. Additionally, our EMS will be continuously reviewed and updated toward the goal of leading to further improvements and compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Our efforts will be guided by the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition Code of Conduct (EICC) and our industry s best practices. Potential Environmental Impacts REI has intersections with and could impact the environment in the following ways: As REI grows, so does its need for energy - for electricity for lighting, computing equipment, copiers, printers, as well as heating and cooling of its offices. Normal everyday activities produce waste that could be recycled or reduced through awareness and encouragement.

2 Normal everyday activities include some use of water that is consumed and circulated back through the community water supply. Many processes and normal business activities use paper, which could be reduced by using only electronic copies at various stages of each process. Policy REI s environmental policy is an integral part of the environmental management system. Policy objectives cover recycling, reduction of waste, and conservation of energy in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and EICC standards. All REI managers and employees will be expected to understand and comply with the policy. All REI subcontractors and consultants working in REI facilities will be contractually obligated to follow the environmental management system policy as well. Responsibilities and Integration REI s Executive Management is responsible for REI s environmental systems management and its related policy. REI has established and is in continual discussion with its environmental systems management team ( REI Go Green ). The Go Green team is responsible for ensuring that REI monitors and controls the implementation of the Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) requirements as well as promoting awareness and recommending improvements or innovative solutions to further advance this program. As part of the environmental system, REI will inform its employees about the Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Management Systems and policy as part of the new employee orientation. Additionally, a link will be included on the internal web site for all employees to gain access. All Employees will be requested to comply with and follow the policy as well as suggest new ways to help REI improve its environmental impact at each intersection. The REI environmental and safety implementation team consists of administrative staff at each facility supported by supervisors and/or project managers under the direction of the Executive Management. The environmental safety implementation team is responsible for:

3 Ensuring that the corporate environmental management system and safety plan are effectively implemented and adhered to throughout each facility. Providing support for critical environmental, health and safety at all facilities. REI corporate resources will ensure that the Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Management Systems plan and policy: is clearly communicated to all employees, is incorporated as part of its subcontract and consulting agreements, is considered in all facility leasing arrangements, is considered when making strategic decisions regarding the use of resources, is measured wherever practicable and goals are established for reduction of energy use and increase in recycling, And, the plan and its related goals are communicated to the general public through its web site. Initiatives Below are some of the initiatives REI and its staff have incorporated in our facilities of the course of the past couple years: REI s Go-Green Team started an initiative to provide REI Green Mugs to all employees that played a role in helping the environment through recycling to eliminate the need for disposable receptacles for beverages. In order to reduce consumption of non-bio-degradable (principally Styrofoam) products and promoting re-use, REI removed Styrofoam cups from its break rooms. Bio-degradable kitchenware, cups and plates are currently in use by employees, subcontractors, consultants and guests working at REI facilities. New co-mingled bins are also installed for recycle of plastic cutlery and other recyclable material at all REI facilities.

4 Implemented virtualized servers have been installed instead of physical servers to reduce energy consumption of electricity. Use of companies such as Turtle Wing to dispose of batteries and other wastes in an environmentally friendly manner. Use of companies which recycle printer toner cartridges for its copiers. New Initiatives Go-Green Award recognition and reward for the employee who suggest new and practicable ideas for environmental management solutions at REI or who exhibits the greatest dedication within REI or in their community to help the environment. Introduction of the use of video technology for interviewing as an alternative to air travel to reduce emissions. Energy Star compliant products REI s new facility in Sterling has state of the art energy star compliant appliances to reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere. Implementation of an initiative to make environmental consideration in all facets of facilities decisions such as favoring more environmentally-friendly green buildings to incorporation of energy efficient lighting (automatic shut off). Measuring Environmental Management System To monitor implementation of the REI Environmental Management System, REI will establish voluntary goals for reduction of the use of energy in its facilities. A baseline period from January to December 2011 will be used to measure progress. Where REI is the sole tenant or owner and it can adequately determine and segregate its energy consumption at its facilities, REI will measure the following: Energy Consumption o Electric Kilowatts consumed Calculate Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions

5 o Electric Calculate CO2 generated from electricity Calculate Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions o Electric Contact utility to determine scope 2 impact Energy Monitoring and Voluntary Reduction Goal REI will monitor the energy consumption for all REI s facilities where possible. REI s goal will be to reduce annual electricity consumption across all its facilities by 1% per year as measured by total consumption in kilowatts divided by total square footage of the space.
