3 Hierarchies and frameworks Use Totara to map learning onto job positions and organisational levels Hierarchies in Totara allow you to set up various frameworks that best represent the structure of your organisation. This enables you to input the structures and relationships of job positions and different sections of your organisation. Learning can then be mapped to individual job roles, management levels, departments, teams and groups. Learning Plan templates Create multiple learning plan templates based on user groups. Competencies and courses can be automatically pulled into learning plans. Learners can personalise plans by setting due dates, priorities and objectives. Learners can use the development plan to manage the scheduling of their courses and other learning activities. 6 Content management Create content online or import courseware from external sources. Totara has a wide range of content authoring and management capabilities allowing you to create a course with both content and activities. Totara enables you to insert almost any kind of web content into your courses. There is also a huge range of learning activities - e.g. lessons, wikis, forums and assignments. As well as creating your own content, you can add SCORM courseware or custom courseware the choice is yours. Unlike other LMS products, you don t have to ask your vendor to add new content, you are free to add as much courseware as you like, by yourself. 7 Blended learning Manage your blended learning programs with a mix of online courseware and offline instructor led training Totara LMS recognises the need that businesses have to manage fully blended learning programs with a mix of learning interventions. Totara allows you to manage a full range of face to face learning events from internal classroom sessions to external workshops. Using Totara you can quickly and efficiently schedule face to face events and provide full employee self-service to browse events and book online directly. Totara also has an optional built-in workflow so that a manager can review and approve bookings. Alternatively the manager can book the learner to an event directly. Large range of notifications and alerts can be set for a learning event. Administrators can track interest and enrolments to a learning event. Trainers and managers can monitor attendance for each session.

You can also load assessments developed with popular 3rd party authoring tools.. Assessment setup Create multiple question banks for use within a topic, single course, course category or for site-wide use. Generate assessments using one or more question banks, with randomisation if you wish. Set course completion on assessment completion or score, or any other activity such as e-learning or classroom session. Import SCORM assessments created using authoring tools such as Quizmaker. Records and evidence Report on individual questions, user scores and provide automated feedback. Track completion of individual activities such as e-learning, classroom sessions and assessments. Track completion of courses where pre-determine completion criteria have been met. When appropriate, manually grade submitted activities and use free-text responses. Maintain current and historical records of active and completed learning for all employees.
