3 What does the role involve? The Head of Sales and Marketing role is both strategic and operational. You will have overall responsibility for the performance of the company s sales and marketing activities and its standing in the market place. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will guide, develop and implement the overall sales and marketing strategy, maximising existing business opportunities and expanding into new geographic and industry sectors. This is a unique opportunity to steer the sales and marketing strategy into a new and innovative direction. You will provide vision, clear objectives and guidelines to direct both teams in generating powerful solutions for us to meet our evolving goals and targets for new, repeat and existing business growth in the UK and overseas. You will stand accountable for the development of your teams in line with our culture, commitments and growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic: Create and implement annual sales and marketing strategies in line with company goals Devise, develop and implement expansion into new markets, both in the UK and overseas, managing all commercial risks and financial implications Report projections of sales profits and present marketing roadmaps to other department heads Produce a full ROI on all sales and marketing strategies and initiatives Gather performance data and create reports for senior management meetings Develop and implement a process to ensure we maximize further business opportunities with new and existing clients Oversee metrics for measuring sales and marketing effectiveness, including research and assessments, to continually monitor the progress of new and current initiatives Ensure all key business and marketing opportunities are identified and exploited Work collaboratively and proactively with other teams in the company to ensure company goals are met Oversee recruitment and growth consistent with our goals

4 Key Responsibilities (continued) People Management: Provide clear direction to the sales and marketing teams Drive and manage performance results with your teams to ensure sales and profit goals are met Develop each team in accordance with career aspirations and company goals Provide ongoing sales training in keeping with Sponge methodologies Essential Skills and Qualities Skills and experience: Extensive management experience, along with at least 5 years experience of sales and marketing A proven sales and marketing track record within elearning, learning and development or digital communications Proven experience devising and delivering successful sales and marketing strategies in Europe in particular Experience of budgets and managing their effectiveness Extensive experience in leading sales and marketing campaigns and overseeing teams through national and international growth Proven track record of achieving and exceeding results Extensive experience of solution sales incorporating new business and accountant management and growth Experience identifying trends and growth opportunities in the market place Qualities: A creative, analytical and influential leader Charismatic, fair and firm Degree educated Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to identify and develop potential Goals: You have already been inspirational in the growth of a successful business and are ready for your next challenge
