4 1. CMS SOFTWARE FEATURES The CMS Software performs the following functions: Real-Time Video Display: view multiple cameras at one time (ie. 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16) Pan/Tilt/Zoom Controlling: control the pan/tilt/zoom functionalities of PTZ cameras Remote Video Recording: record video onto an SD card placed in the IP Encoder Local Video Recording: preset record times or have video record on alarm Real-Time Video Image Capture: capture images during monitoring or playback and save single frame images in BMP format Audio Monitoring and Bidirectional Talkback: two-way audio functionality Alarm Action: set alarm parameters for automatic recording Electronic Map Display: create a map with camera locations for easy reference Local and Remote Playback: video files of IP Encoders can be retrieved and played back at any time 2. CMS SOFTWARE INSTALLATION Operating Environment: Operating system: Windows 2000server/Professional/XP/2003 server or higher Network protocol: TCP/IP Client-side PC:P4/128MRAM/40GHD/ video card supporting zoom, DirectX7.0 or higher. 500MB of free disk space Insert CD ROM Insert the CD and follow the prompts Select Software Double click Software Folder Select Decoder Software Double click Decoder Software Select IMagineWorldClient_ML_V Double click IMagineWorldClient_ML_V Language Selection
5 Select the path for destination folder, to continue, click Next Select additional tasks to install as required, and click Install Click Finish to finish the installation
6 3. Start CMS Software Choose the CMS Software in [Start] menu---- All Program -----ImagineworldClient At the Login prompt, enter the Username and Password (the initial installation Username is admin and the Password may remain empty). Click OK to continue.
7 NOTE: The CMS software requires at least 500MB of free disk space to operate., and can not cancel, it might be caused by insufficient memory of Disk D. Please check whether the memory of Disk D is less than 500M. If yes, please make enough memory for Disk D, or change the default video storage paths as below: option system setup recording disk, cancel Disk D and choose other disks with more than 500M memory. Click OK, and then reboot the CMS. 3.1 Connecting the IP Encoder Only authorized users can allocate IP Encoders. From the top menu click [Option] choose Server Assignment]. Click right button of the mouse in the pop-up Server Assignment --> Add Projects --> Add Groups --> add server. Enter server s name (Default Server) and complete the fields accordingly.
8 Server s name: refers to the name of the video server to be connected. This name is gives a unique identification in the same area, which will serve for dynamic domain name or transmit connection as identification. Enter Default Server as the value to this field. Server address: IP address or domain name can be used as connecting server address. Pay attention that don t fill the part. Server port: refers to data port of the server, which default is Using DDNS: DDNS refers that the built-in DDNS client in the video server works together with DDNS client-side provided by developer. When using DDNS function, server s name is identification of searching for this server. If the name of server is incorrectly entered, it will return to error information of unable to find server. User name and password: default user name and password both is After entering the information, click OK and the system will connect to the server automatically and display the video. You can also click the Search button in the bottom right-hand corner to display a pop up Window that displays a list of Server Names the software sees:
9 Double click the desired IP address and click Ok to finish. After this, the interface will display as follows: Double click the Camera icon or drag the icon to the channel which you want to display the video.
10 3.2 Top Toolbar You can manually choose different shortcuts as following picture: System Log : Gives you a summary of Login Dates and Times Query : retrieve recorded video files LoopView : view images from servers one after another Electronic Map : View and edit electronic map
11 3.3 Top Menu Bar In top menu bar, there are five menu items such as File, Operation, Option, Skin and Help. It s showed as follows: 3.4 Lower Left CornerToolbar Local Out : Display and control the connection of the alarm output relay. If the alarm output relay is engaged the indicator would be lit up. As follows: Alarm Out : Clicking on an indicator will activate/deactivate the alarm output. [Alarm In] : [PTZ Controls]: control pan/tilt/zoom features of a selected PTZ camera
12 3.5 Video Display Area Right click the mouse over one of the videos in the display area and a menu with options will appear. Delete Window: delete certain video server on video display Play or Stop: connect or disconnect the software to server Start View or Stop View: start and stop the display of a camera Flip Video Vertically: allows you to rotate the view of the video on the monitor Local Recording: you can choose start or stop local recording. Remote Recording: you can start or stop remote recording. Local BMP capture: save single-frame images from dynamic images in BMP format Remote JPEG capture: save single-frame image from dynamic images in JPEG format Start Local JPEG Capture: start the local JPEG format image capture. Choosing it will activate two options, Local JPEG capture single and stop local JPEG capture single. Local JPEG capture single: save single-frame images from dynamic images in JPEG format Stop Local JPEG Capture: stop the local JPEG format Disable Alarm: disable settings for recording under alarm parameters. Enable Alarm: enable settings for recording under alarm parameters. Camera Param: parameters of the camera can be set here.
13 3.6 Bottom Toolbar Page up and Multi-frame view Full screen down Image capture Record Disconnect Two-way Audio Clear alarm Multi-frame view : 1-frame, 4-frame, 6-frame, 8-frame, 9-frame, 16-frame Full screen :maximize image display Page up and down Page up and down to view more channels Disconnect : disconnect the current video display Image capture : Instant image of current channel can be captured Record : record files to the local computer or remote video server Two-way Audio : Start or stop playing the two-way audio Clear alarm : Clear the alarm notification 4. Main Menu and Navigation CMS software is composed of five parts: Files, Operation, Option, Skin and Help. 4.1 File The File menu allows you to Lock/Unlock Screen, Save Current Status, System Login and Exit.
14 Lock/Unlock: lock and unlock the CMS software Save Current Status: save the current status so that the software will continue to work the same at next start up System Login: log in the client side of CMS software. (initial installation the user s name is admin and the password is NULL) Exit: exit CMS software. 4.2 Operation The Operation menu allows you to access the following options: Query History Files: access search parameters to find recorded files (same as clicking the Query icon along the top toolbar) System Log: Shows the history of user events (same as clicking System Log along the top Toolbar) EMap: view/create/edit an electronic map. (same as clicking the EMap icon along the top Toolbar) Loop View: view images from servers one after another (same as clicking the LoopView icon along the top Toolbar) Audio Broadcast: edit the list of audio broadcast 4.3 Option Use the Option menu to access various system parameter options.
15 System Setup: Access general system settings and parameters. Server Management: add network video servers LoopView Param: customize different cameras and frame display modes to construct a polling page. Edit EMap: create and edit an electronic map. Remote Server Setting: set the device parameters for the remote devices. Local Serving Setting: set the alarm function of an external alarm device of a local server. Export Setting: export system parameter in a certain time into file for storage and backup. Import Setting: import system parameter into system (reboot software for revisions to take effect). 4.4 Skin You can select from two options ( Original and benzo blue ) to change the visual interface of the software display. 4.5 Help Version and copyright information of CMS displayed through the Help menu.
16 4.5 Mouse Operation Left click the mouse over a video frame to display that image in full screen mode. Double click the screen again to return to the previous displaying mode. 5. Real-Time Video Display and Control Icons Use the CMS software to view real-time video and control PTZ cameras. 5.1 Real-Time Video Frame Control Real-time Video Frame Control contains multi-frame switching, polling displaying control, page up/down, devices ordering and main screen display Displaying Mode Switching The CMS software supports six video display modes: single-frame, 4-frame, 6-frame, 8-frame, 9-frame, and 16-frame. Switch display modes by using the toolbar at the bottom Single Frame Displaying Click button in bottom Toolbar and switch to single-frame displaying mode.
17 5.1.3 Full Screen Displaying Click icon in bottom Toolbar and switch to full screen displaying status; double click the frame to exit Full Screen displaying status LoopView Monitoring LoopView Monitoring lets you view images from servers one after. Polling time for each page can be set separately in Stay Time. Click Pages List, and set time interval for each image separately in Stay Time, then click Change Stay Time to save the setting. Once your settings have been completed, click in top toolbar to start the polling display for real-time video, and display the videos of all channels in the device list of the client side page by page and according to the number of currently displayed frames. When system enters polling status, all buttons in interface can t be used. Click Loopview in top toolbar again to exit polling displaying status.
18 5.2 Pan/Tilt/Zoom Controlling Authorized users can control the Pan/Tilt/Zoom functions of a camera. Lens UP/DOWN Lens turn LEFT/RIGHT Auto rotation ON/OFF Lens ZOOM UP/DOWN Focus FAR/NEAR Iris OPEN/CLOSE Invoke PRESET POINT Set PRESET POINT Loop PRESET POINT: Loop PRESET POINT setting and invoke Auxiliary Equipment: switch ON/OFF, max. Support 8 auxiliary equipments. Speed of the movement of the PTZ camera 6. Local Retrieval and Record Playback Authorized users can retrieve and play back the video files. Enter the parameters in the Search window:
19 6.1 Record Retrieval Click under top menu to open up search the parameters. Choose recording file which you to retrieve.. Local retrieval: to retrieve video files stored in local host computer Front-end server retrieval: to retrieve video files stored in the SD Card of the IP Encoder. Select and input the name of video server. Fill in the search fields accordingly and click. All search results will appear as in a window, as follows: 6.2 File Download You may download and save a file from the results list of your query. Right click on the file wanted to be downloaded, choose Download in the pop-up menu, and it will download. 6.3 Record Playback Choose recording files that you want to play back, double click the recording information and a preset video player will pop up to view the video with controls.
20 7. Alarm Action The CMS software can send a notice when an alarm is triggered. Alarms can initiate recording and sent alerts. 8. Two-Way Audio Click on the audio icon to connect to and disconnect to an IP Encoder. 9. Electronic Map (EMap) Use an electronic map to highlight camera locations. 9.1 Create Electronic Map You will need to build a map outside the system in bmp format. Then choose to enter Edit Electronic Map through Setting item in top menu.
21 From the top tool bar, select <Option> and then <Edit EMap> and a new window will open. Right click the mouse on the left frame; and select Add Scene from the pop-up menu and then choose Load Map to finish initial building for the Electronic Map. The name of built map will be displayed in the window of server list. Double click the map name to open or switch electronic map. Click right button on newly built scene, choose Add Equipment in pop-up menu and then you can choose to add a camera. You may then drag the camera icon in the upper left corner of the map to the monitoring position on the map, and close the window..
22 After returning to main interface, choose in top menu. Images currently under monitoring can be displayed by clicking camera icon on the map. 9.2 Linking an Image to the Electronic Map You must now link a video image to the camera icon on the Electronic Map. Select <Option> from the main menu. Go into the System Setup and from there select the Software Setting tab. Under the Alarm Trigger Action choose Display Emap from the drop down menu and the click OK at the bottom of the window.
23 10. System Setup Use this menu to set IP Encoder parameters 10.1 System Setting Set alarm parameters and recording details for IP Encoders.
24 10.2 Administration Add and modify the user s name, passwords and levels of access for different users. Select <Option> from the main menu and click on the Administration tab to add users and set their levels of access File Service Used to turn on the access to server from remote host. From the Option menu select System Setup and click on File Service tab.
25 10.4 Setting Transmission Server The video server management software has data transmission function. To activate this function for the video signals of a channel, select option of [Start Transmission Service] (under which transmission server parameters all refer to address parameters of the server that this management software belongs to). Number of channel users refer to the maximum of users for connection, and number of system users refers to the total amount of users that connect with this server. Reboot the software for the new settings to take affect. It is necessary to note that the setting of local ports and multi-switch address should not conflict with other program SD Card Management Keep track of the type, capacity and total spare space of an SD Card. From Options select <System Setup> and click open the Recording Disk tab.
26 10.6 Software Setting Allows you to set parameters for alarm features. From Options select <System Setup> and open the <Software Setting> tab Linking the IP Encoder Set the communication between the host and IP Encoder. From Option select System Setup and open the Local Link tab.
27 11. Configuring Parameter Setting Set parameters for various software settings. Note: some routers may not support this function Equipment Parameter Setting Basic Parameter Settings for Remote Server Settings Set parameters for the IP Encoders from this screen. From the Option menu select <Remote Server Setting>
28 Network Parameter Modify the network parameters of the IP Encoder WiFi Parameters Use this screen to configure WiFi settings.
29 System User Enter user names and passwords to allow multiple users with different access levels Save-Reboot-Update This allows you to synchronize the time of the CMS with the IP Encoder. Click to restore the default values of the video server parameters to factory settings.
30 11.2 Channel Parameter Setting The parameters of every channel can be customized and are set independently Compression Parameter Set the compression parameters of the network transmission and the remote recording stream.
31 Motion Detection Set parameters to record when motion is detected.
32 OSD Overlap View On Screen Display (OSD) information for an image Equipment Recording Schedule Set a schedule to automatically start and stop recording..
33 Video Parameter Adjustment Adjust some of the video characteristics of the image such as Brightness, Contrast, etc To return default value, click button Image Area Masking This function could be used when part image screen needs to be hidden. Click left button of mouse on monitor screen and drag the mouse over the area you would like masked. Check to enable the area masking function.
34 Camera Covered Detection An alarm can be triggered when the lens of camera is covered by object. Enable video server come into effect. and set valid period of time to let image covered detection of Video Loss Detection The software can generate an alarm for loss of video scenarios. Enable server come into effect. and set valid period of time to let video loss detection of video
35 JPEG Capture Parameter This menu allows you set parameters that deal with image quality of the video server (such as capture quality, frame rate, format) 11.3 PTZ Parameter Setting Set serial-port control parameters for PTZ cameras.
36 11.4 Alarm Probe Parameter Setting You may set and customize alarms as required by presetting parameters for each device Disk You are able to format the SD Card and monitor the capacity and total capacity of the card.
