2 Building your Ambit Energy Empire People spend months doing the business, then get a check and think, this isn t working. That s not true! What they are doing isn t working. The most important reason why you should use the performance tracker EVERDAY is so you can: Identify exactly what you doing or not doing well. Ensure that each activity you do will actually earn money. Receive the right coaching. Only when performance is measured can it be correctly altered. Otherwise, it is on a guess at what you are doing wrong and not doing. Certain proven activities create success in your AMBIT ENERGY business. Certain activities will make you money. Everything else is a waste of your time. To be successful in your AMBIT ENERGY business you need ONLY to focus on those activities that drive your success. Performance Tracker lists those CRITICAL activities, keeps track of how often you do them and statistically graphs your performance so you can be effective in building your AMBIT ENERGY business. Performance Tracker is a tool that makes you effective in building your AMBIT ENERGY business by breaking down the whole subject into individual activities. To make a lot of money in building your AMBIT ENERGY business and fulfill your dreams and goals, you need to know EXACTLY what activities to do every day. And you need to track those activities closely. Tracking will uncover your weaknesses, which you can then overcome and turn into strengths. Weaknesses Uncovered As you track your activities, your weaknesses will become clear to you. Example: You set 13 appointments, but have zero presentations. The problem is NOT that you did zero presentations; the problem is that zero out of the 13 appointments resulted in no presentations. The weakness 2
3 uncovered is clearly that you need to work on how to turn appointments into presentations. What's Important? The point system within Performance Tracker assigns number values to each activity, based on the importance that activity contributes to making you money. You are awarded five points (the highest) for training a New Consultant because you are duplicating your efforts. Regardless of the point value, all activities are necessary for your success. A successful Marketing Consultant building their AMBIT ENERGY business model focus only on the activities listed in Tracker. Step One To begin, fill in each of the target boxes on the left side of the page. You should set daily targets (what you plan on achieving for the day) for each Activity. Personal Development To succeed in building your AMBITENERGY business you must develop YOU. Your income will never out pace your attitude. For you to earn a dollar more this year than you did last year, you must grow. Tracker follows two areas of your Personal Development: Activity #1 - Cultivate Your Goals: The word cultivate means: to nurture, to foster and refine. That's exactly what you should do with your goals every day. Each time you cultivate your goals in the morning, Tracker awards you one point. When you cultivate your goals again in the evening. Tracker awards you one more point. (No more than 30 minutes) Activity #2 - Self-Training: When you attend AMBIT ENERGY trainings, Ambition, Shark Nation Breakout, a conference call or any event that builds your AMBIT ENERGY business skills etc., take one point per hour of actual learning time. 3
4 Lead Generation Actions (Building Your List) There's not a business in the world that doesn't require lead generation in someway, that is, if they want to stay in business. Your Business isn't any different. You don't have to do each of these lead generation types every day. But every day, you must do at least one type of lead generation. That's the only way you'll be able to have people to call and invite. In each lead generation activity (Activities 3 7),you may only EARN the points the day you reach out to the lead, with an outbound activity. Such as a phone call, a text or instant message, or a personal message. If you try to reach out and don't get them on the first try, you cannot take another lead generation point the second time you try to reach them. You are simply awarded the point for generating the lead when you first attempt the outbound activity. Activity #3 Networking Leads: From my experience leads from your network, meaning your warm written list, are more valuable than leads from other sources. Therefore for every new name you add to your names list from your network (people you know), you get 2 points. Award yourself the point after you have completed the outbound activity for the first time. You also get two points for generating and calling a referral. Activity #4 Free Leads: Any lead you obtain without paying for advertising can be counted in the free leads category. If you're generating names through social interactions not paid advertising. Like Facebook, Twitter, and or any other social networking site that you can add to your prospecting list or names list add one point for each lead. In addition any other free resource you use to obtain a lead qualifies in this category. Examples would be if you join a club or a community/networking group, do surveys, get a response from an online classified ad or meet people while you're out and about Those too are good for one point for each lead you reach out to. Activity #5 Purchased Leads: Every lead that you purchased from a lead vendor, you will receive one point per lead that you 4
5 reach out to. Activity #6 Print Advertising Leads: Any type of print advertisement that generates a lead for your prospecting list or names list will earn you one point for every lead you reach out to. Examples in this category including newspaper ad, door hangers, Direct mail, postcards, letters, coupon books, window decals, leaflets and so on. And remember only count the point the first time you complete an outbound activity or if the lead response to your ad and calls you and you answer the phone. Activity #7 Internet Generated Leads: if you use online marketing techniques and use online surveys, or lead capture pages, squeeze pages, or marketing pages, to capture a person's name, address, phone number - Award yourself one point for every name that's added to your list and that you complete an outbound activity for. Production Actions (High Activity) The production section is what you do that produce results. Activity #8 - Outbounds: (includes; phone calls, texts or instant messages, or personal s) Every time you reach out to a prospect, give yourself one point, regardless if the person answers or replies. You can only get points for the section for generating business for the first time, following up after sending information, setting an appointment, or up selling to a different service such as solar service, green-e, or Big/Small commercial service. If you reach out doing an outbound activity give yourself one point. Activity #9 - Connects: A connect occurs when you communicate with the prospect. However you reach out phone call, text message, instant message, or personal and you get a response back, award yourself one point for the connect. For example if you call and they answer the phone that's a connect or you send a text message and they reply that is a connect. If you get an answer machine or voic that does not count. Also if the prospect returned your call and you answer, this counts as a connect. Activity #10 Invite (Inviting the List): The next activity is to invite your prospect to do something. If when you connect with the prospect, and you invite them to do something and they say yes you get 2 points. It doesn't matter if you invite them to watch online 5
6 presentation, join a webinar, talk to one of your business partners on a 3-way call, to have breakfast with you or cup of coffee, would like them to try the service - if they say yes you get 2 points. Activity #11 Presentations Given (Pressing Play): You receive 3 points if your prospect watches or listen to any type of presentation having to do with your business. Presentations can be to a prospect who attends a weekly meeting, a one-on-one meeting, or a residential meeting. Also keep track of any presentations you give and any audio, video or web presentation that was viewed or listen to - those count too. Activity #12 Gathering Personal Customers: Give yourself 4 points for each customer you gathered. This includes new customers, customers that renew their service, well done! This is the essence of the business you should be proud. By the way when you call your customer to renew their contract, you receive one point for the outbound activity one point when you connect and 4 more when they renew their service. That's a total of six points! Activity #13 Sponsored People (Go Wide or Die): Every new person who joins your business is also worth 4 points. Activity #14 New Consultant Training (Field Training): Training your new business partners give you 5 points per hour. It's the highest point value because training new consultant duplicate you and your efforts. Financially this reward you the most. A new business partner multiplies you because they gather customers and they find other business partners to do the same. Keep in mind it's not five points for every hour you spend with your new business partner, it's five points for every hour you are actually training them. Daily Performance Worksheet & Plan Every time you accomplish an action, check the appropriate "bubble" next to the activity. Each activity is then multiplied by its respective point value. The result is indicated in the right hand column. At the end of the day, calculate the total number of points. If you are working the business part-time, your target daily points should be 40 points. If you are working the business full-time, your target daily points should be 100 points. (See Page 8) 6
7 Keeping Track of Your Progression At the end of each day, chart your progress on the Monthly Performance Graph. This chart will allow you to visualize and compare your performance with your goals.
