Know the answers to the Search Site questions/bible passages on pgs Cor. 13:1-13, Titus 2:1-5, a) Titus 2 is a chapter written to tell you what you and all other Christian kids need to learn. Paul is telling Titus what the young men and women (that includes you) need to learn from the older men and women. In verse 1, Paul writes that the older people are to teach what is: (Answer: in accord with sound doctrine). b) In verses 4-5, Paul writes that the older women are to teach the younger women. What are four things they are to teach? 1. to love their husbands and children 2. to be self-controlled and pure 3. to be busy at home 4. to be kind 5. to be subject to their husbands 4. Responsibility is the ability to respond willingly and without complaining. You are part of a team your family. Each team member has a responsibility to do his or her part. Family members have a responsibility to: a) help with chores b) respect each other s privacy c) care for a family member who is sick d) honor each other with gifts e) pray for each other f) love each other 1

Know the answers to the Search Site questions/bible passages on pgs Cor. 6:14-17 and Eph. 5:1-10, a) The 2 Corinthians verses tell us that Christians shouldn t marry nonbelievers. What is a nonbeliever? (someone who has not yet received Jesus Christ as His Savior) b) When Christians marry nonbelievers, they can t share the most important part of their life with their husband or wife. What is that most important part? (loving and serving and living for Jesus Christ) c) 2 Cor. 6:16 says Christians are God s temple. A temple is a place where God lives. Who lives within us after we trust Christ as Savior? (Holy Spirit God Himself) d) In Eph. 5:1-10, Paul lists several things that are NOT to be part of our lives. Define at least 3 of these things. 1. sexual immorality 2. obscenity 3. foolish talk or coarse joking 4. immoral, impure or greedy person e) How are we to walk? (Answer: Be imitators of God, living a life of love; living as children of light) f) Submitting means to give way to each other. Who should submit in a marriage (vs. 21)? (Answer: one another; wives to husbands) g) How much should a husband love his wife? (Answer: just like Christ) h) How did Christ show His love for the church? (Answer: He gave his life up for the church.) i) List 3 other verses that talk about marriage. Each verse must be from a different book of the Bible. (Possible answers: Gen. 2:23-24; Col. 3:18-19; 1 Pet. 3:1-2, 7) 6. Know the answers to the bible passage questions on pg. 56. a) According to 1 Peter 2:2, what kind of food do newborn babies desire? (Answer: milk) b) According to Hebrews 5:12-14, what kind of food do you desire when you are grown? (Answer: solid food) c) What would be the milk of the Bible? (Possible answer: basic truths in the Bible, like Jesus loves me and died for my sins) d) What would be the meat of the Bible? (Possible answer: teachings in righteousness, how to follow Christ) e) When you first become a Christian, the only thing you might know is that Christ died for your sin. But as time goes by, you need to learn more and more about God s Word. After awhile, you can easily tell the difference between good and evil. (Heb. 5:14) 7. Two reasons why it s great to memorize God s Word: a) I will know Bible verses that can help me talk to my friends about Christ. b) I will know what the Bible says about right and wrong. 2

3 General Knowledge 8. Know the answers to the Search Site questions / bible passages on pgs The apostle Paul had one goal in life - to tell others about the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. He went from place to place preaching to the people. Sometimes it wasn t a very easy job! a) According to 1 Cor. 1:17-31 What did Christ sent Paul to do? (Answer: to preach the gospel, not to baptize) b) What does Paul say about the wisdom of God and the foolishness of men? (Answer: God s foolishness is wiser than man s wisdom.) c) According to Acts 16:16-35 The evil spirit helped the slave girl tell future events. The girl s owner made a lot of money off of her as a fortune teller. Why did the owner turn Paul and Silas over to the authorities? (Answer: When Paul and Silas commanded the evil spirit to leave the girl, she could no longer make money by telling fortunes for her owners.) d) Paul and Silas were stripped, beaten and locked up in jail. What did they do? (Answer: praying and singing hymns) e) Suddenly there was an earthquake that opened the prison doors and loosened the prisoners chains. But Paul and Silas didn t escape. What did they do? (Answer: they shouted to the jailer, Don t harm yourself. We are all here. ) f) When the jailer asked Paul and Silas how to be saved, what did they say? (Answer: Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household. ) g) What would you say, if someone asked you how to be saved? h) According to Romans 15:15-21 In a letter to the Christians in Rome, Paul said he spoke about one topic wherever he went. What was it? (Answer: the gospel of God / Christ) i) Paul said his desire was to share the gospel with people who have (vs. 20,21) (Answer: never heard about Jesus Christ) 9. Honor one another above yourself. 5. Be Never lacking in zeal, keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 6. Be joyful in hope. 7. Be patient in affliction. 8. Be faithful in prayer. 9. Share with God s people who are in need. 10. Practice hospitality. f) According to Ephesians 4:7-16 God gives every Christian a gift to use for the good of the Church (other Christians). Five of those gifts are talked about in verse 11. What are they? 1. apostles 2. prophets 3. evangelists 4. pastors 5. teachers g) Why does every Christian receive a spiritual gift? (Answer: to prepare God s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ will be built up and we all become mature) h) How does the Body of Christ grow and build itself up in love? (Answer: as each one part does its work) 4

Joshua 24:15b Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. Your forefathers: someone who lived a long time ago, your relatives God of the Amorites: false gods that many of Israel s neighbors worshiped Answer #2: Family members should enjoy one another. Deuteronomy 5:16 Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Answer #6: I need to be a kid. 2 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge. And to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness. And to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. Answer #1: I can grow spiritually by learning more about the Bible. Hebrews 5:13-14 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Answer #2: I can grow spiritually by listening to my pastor. 2 Timothy 1:13-14 What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you - Guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
