1 Fall 2015 Student Leader Academy Educational Sessions Program Proposal Student Involvement would like to invite you to submit a program proposal to host an educational session at our Annual Student Leader Academy. The Student Leader Academy is an opportunity for all students at Texas Tech University to learn more about who they are as leaders, build their personal leadership skills, and make connections with other Red Raiders. The Student Leader Academy typically includes a welcoming keynote speaker, educational breakout sessions, and time for networking with other campus leaders. The Student Leader Academy is designed to impact everyone - from emerging, to accomplished leaders - so all Texas Tech students are encouraged to register and attend. This year s Student Leader Academy is on Saturday, October 17th from 1pm-5pm in the Student Union Building. The Student Leader Academy focuses on the individual development of leaders. Not to be confused with our Spring Student Org Academy that focuses on Organizational Leadership. Submission Instructions Submit your program proposal(s) by filling out the Online Application. All Online Applications must be submitted by Friday, October 2nd by 5pm. Educational Session Information The various educational sessions will allow students to experience a broader spectrum of programming, to learn more about themselves as a leader, how they can develop their personal leadership skills, and have the opportunity to meet and engage with a variety of campus partners. As you plan your program submission, note that all educational sessions will be 35 minutes long. For this year s Student Leader Academy, Student Involvement is using the competencies identified in The Student Leadership Competencies Guidebook by Dr. Corey Seemiller to guide the themes and content of the educational sessions. We ask that your presentation includes at least one of the Student Leadership Competencies. Below are the various competency categories identified in the guidebook. Learning and Reasoning Self-Awareness and Development Interpersonal Interaction Group Dynamics Civic Responsibility Communication Strategic Planning Personal Behavior Student Involvement appreciates and values your time, talents, and expertise. We want to thank you in advance for considering submitting a program proposal for this year s Student Leader Academy.
