2 Background of Speakers Emerging Market Trends in the Global Construction Industry Mr Sachin Kerur, Partner & Head of the Gulf Region, Pinsent Masons LLP Sachin is Head of the Gulf Region for Pinsent Masons. He brings over 16 years experience of advising upon complex project delivery systems in emerging markets to his practice in the Gulf. Sachin was featured among the 50 most influential figures in the Middle East construction industry by the region's leading construction publication, Construction Week. He is also listed in the International Who's Who of Construction Lawyers 2013, a leading individual for construction in the Legal and as a leading India expert based abroad (Projects) in Chambers Global Your Financing Partner in the Region Ms Sunita Danani, Senior Vice-President, Project Finance, DBS Bank Ltd Sunita Danani is a Senior Vice President with DBS Bank s Project Finance team and has over 13 years of institutional and project finance banking experience. Throughout her career Sunita has been heavily involved in financial advisory and project financing transactions in the Asian region, specifically in the infrastructure, oil and gas and natural resources space. Sunita is currently leading a team in providing financial advisory services to a ~US$ 1 billion metals and mining greenfield project in Indonesia. Other landmark deals successfully executed includes structuring and arranging Vopak and Dialog s oil terminal storage project in Johor, Malaysia in 2013, being Financial Advisor to SP Cross Island Tunnel Trust, member of the Singapore Power Ltd Group for its S$1.59 billion non-recourse loan and being Financial Advisor to Korea National Oil Company on its ~US$500m greenfield Yeosu Oil terminal storage project in Project Financing in the Emerging Markets Mr Chew Kok Leong, Head of Business Development, AFC Merchant Bank, Singapore Kok Leong is responsible for business development in AFC Merchant Bank. Before joining AFC Merchant Bank in early 2009, he was a Director with Linq Capital Services Pte Ltd, a specialist mezzanine finance company which is part of a Page 2

3 boutique private equity firm with focus on mezzanine and high-yield deals in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Kok Leong has more than 17 years experiences in originating and structuring crossborder complex project/ structured finance deals in power, oil and gas, coal, cement and utilities. He gained his professional experience with both local and international institutions as Senior Vice President, Energy Finance in Standard Bank Plc and Vice President, Corporate & Investment Banking (Energy) in DBS Bank Singapore. Prior to that, he was with Debt Capital Markets in OCBC Bank and Project Finance team in Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi. In addition to his product role, he has also assumed client-facing role as relationship manager of clients in South East Asia and China across diversified industries in power and energy, coal mining, oil and gas, diversified conglomerates, offshore marine and real estate. Cross Border Financing Mr Jonathan Lim, Head & Senior Vice-President of Global Business Development, United Overseas Bank Limited, Singapore Jonathan heads the Global Business Development and Foreign Direct Investment Singapore. He will be speaking on the current investment landscape in the region and the opportunities and challenges of cross border financing. Jonathan will also touch on FDI trends, the various banking products and the structure which can assist companies to regionalize via his banking franchise. Case studies will be shared to further illustrate the cross border structure for better understanding. Exciting New Trends in Middle East Project Financing Mr Simon Harvey, Partner, Pinsent Masons LLP Simon is a partner in Pinsent Masons office and has lived in the gulf region for the last four and a half years. Prior to moving to the Middle East, he worked for leading law firms in Sydney and Moscow. Simon has over 15 years experience advising sponsors, contractors, lenders and government on major infrastructure and construction projects, including projects in the energy, transport, mining, power and water and PPP sectors. His recent experience includes advising on the construction and financing of a major real estate development in Dubai, the Al Ghubrah IWP Project in Oman, the Bahrain Housing PPP project, the Doha Metro Project, the S3 IPP project in Abu Dhabi and the Saudi Arabian government (Ministry of Labour) on its PPP programme. 4 Simon prides himself on finding commercially pragmatic solutions to the many and varied issues that inevitably arise on the complex projects and project financings. Lending is not an Exact Science Mr Chua Chye Seng, General Manager of Business Development, Commercial Finance, IFS Capital Ltd Mr Chua was appointed General Manager in January 2009 and is responsible for business development. He was appointed a Director of IFS Capital (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in August He joined IFS in 2006 and prior to this, he has more than 21 years of transactional experience in the areas of equity and debt fund raisings, valuations, mergers and acquisitions. He holds a Master of Applied Finance from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelor of Financial Administration from the University of New England. He is a Member of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia. Grants & Assistance Schemes for Internationalization Ms Grace, Chiew, Senior Manager, Enterprise Services Division, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore Grace Chiew is the Senior Manager of Enterprise Services Division in International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore). The Enterprise Services Division in IE Singapore provides assistance to help companies who are new to internationalisation. The division develop strategies and programme to ensure sustained engagement of SMEs in their various stages of internationalisation. 1 st Panel Q&A Chairperson Ms Audra Low, Head of Origination & Structuring, Clifford Capital Pte Ltd Audra Low is the Head of Origination and Structuring at Clifford Capital. Prior to joining Clifford Capital, Ms Low was a Director of Project Finance at HSBC, with primary responsibility for the origination and execution of project finance transactions in Singapore and the wider South East Asia region. She worked at HSBC for 12 years and played a key role in the origination and financing of numerous award-winning, landmark projects, during this time, both as financial advisor and lead arranger. She brings with her a wealth of experience of working with Singapore-based companies on infrastructure projects both locally and overseas. Earlier in her career, she spent 2 years working as an investment banker Page 4

5 in New York with Lehman Brothers. Ms Low has a Master of Business Administration from New York University Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University. 2 nd Panel Q&A Chairperson Mr Koh Lin Ji, Group Director, International Development Group, Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore from Mr Koh joined the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in 1989 (then known as the Construction Industry Development Board). He has more than 24 years in the construction industry as well as lecturing and doing research in Economics in the University of Ottawa from 1982 to He has worked on an econometric forecasting for the Singapore Economy in the National University of Singapore In BCA, he headed the Economics Research Department and developed the first econometric forecasting model for the Singapore construction sector. Mr. Koh moved on in 2002 to promote BCA services and Singapore firms overseas, and is now the Group Director for the International Development in BCA. His team also set up the BCA International to facilitate the export of BCA services overseas. Mr. Koh led BCA teams to work with his Chinese counterparts to develop and implement various key green initiatives for the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city and Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, as well as Chinese government agencies and industrial organisations. He is a member of the China Green Building Council (CGBC) and a Vice-Chairman of the Green Facility Operations and Management Study Group under the CGBC. Page 5
